Life skills Workshop

The World Health Organization has defined life skills as “ the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life”.

The workshop addresses 3 areas: Knowledge, attitude and skills.
Life skills are essentially those abilities that help promote mental well being and competence in young people in taking responsibility for their lives. providing the student with the skills to optimise on their prospects on entering into their studies or workplace.

The workshop consists of 6 sessions. Each session has a theme, exercises and tools.

Session 1.
Where are you now? Orientation around personal assets, obstacles and desires.
Session 2.
Self Esteem and Self Compassion – Identifying sources of beliefs about ourselves, moderating the critical voice
Session 3.
Decision Making – Process of making a decision, consequences of our decisions
Session 4.
Goal Planning – Setting short, mid and long term goals
Session 5.
Positive Communication (in the Work Place), business ethics
Session 6.
Coping Methods for Dealing with Stress (Life Balance)
